Abstract

Na produção de suínos em função de alta concentração em larga escala, os dejetos podem execer capacidade de absorção dos ecossistemas locais e são a causa potencial da poluição e problemas de saúde relacionados com a matéria orgânica, nutrientes, patógenos, odores e microorganismos gerados na atmosfera. Os efluentes animais apesar de apresentarem elevado potencial poluidor, podem se tornar alternativa econômica para a propriedade rural, se manejados adequadamente sem comprometer a qualidade ambiental. O presente trabalho teve por avaliar o efluente suinícola no decorrer de um sistema de produção completo antes e após o sistema de tratamento. Os resultados indicaram que, pelo elevado fator poluente de suínos, a utilização deste como forma de adubação via irrigação fica completamente comprometida se não tratado e que a obtenção de uma legislação específica para o setor produtivo animal torna-se totalmente indispensável.
